Friday 5th June - Graham Caldecott (Piano)
An alumnus of both Chethams and the Royal College of Russell Lomas – Accompanist
Music , Graham Caldecott offers an all-Chopin
programme including a complete performance of the
24 Preludes, Opus 28.
Friday 20th June - John Powell & Russell Lomas
Cambridge University and has been conductor, singer,
teacher, Director of Bolton Choir, a member of BBC
Northern Singers and currently sings in BBC Daily
Service. Programme includes songs by Purcell, Vaughan Williams, Faure and Quilter
Friday 4th July - The Northern Assembly
A new group of ex-RNCM-trained musicians some of whom are also members of the well known group, the Swing Commanders. In this capacity, after today’s lunch-
time concert, they will be travelling onwards to Cumbria
for an evening performance.
Their concert today will include Mendelssohn’s Octet and
Elgar’s Serenade for strings.
Friday 18th July - Christopher Ellis (Piano)
Christopher Ellis studied the piano with Simon Bottomley and at Chetham’s School, graduate from the Royal Academy of Music and has been a finalist in major competitions in Belgium in 2006 and 2007. His programme today includes Chopin’s Bal-lade No 1 in G minor, Liszt’s Transcendental Etude No.10 In F minor and the Sonata No 8 in B flat major by Prokofiev.
Friday 1st August - Georgina Cookson & Russell Lomas
Georgina has been a student at Chetham’s, Manchester, the Royal College of Music, London and the Conservatorium van Amsterdam, and been on some incredible summer music schools in Europe and the United States. Her programme will include music by Schubert and Vieuxtemps
Russell Lomas is the retired head of Accompanists at Chetham’s School of Music, Manchester.
Friday 15th August - Sarah Zatjmann (Piano)
The Finalist in the 2007 Chetham’s International Summer School
for Pianists. ( Category Aged 16 and Under )

Friday 19th September - Helen Wilson & Russell Lomas
Helen has been in many competitions
and played in youth groups including woodwind section winner in 2006
Young Musician of the Year; 2007 winner of The British Flute Society;
has been Principal Flute in the National Children’s Chamber and Symphony
Orchestras and Chetham’s Symphony Orchestra. She is now studying at
R N C M
Her programme includes: works by Mozart and Taktakishvili

Friday 5th December - Steven Wilkie & Kathleen Uren
Born in Edinburgh, Steven is now a leading freelance violinist peforming with and guest principal for a number of orchestras.
Kathleen has a varied musical
career encompassing solo and chamber- music playing with orchestras
both in UK and Europe, and teaches and acts as an accompanist.
This new duo partnership performs favourites by Kreisler and the young Richard Strauss’s gorgeous violin sonata
